Higher boost = more air in the cylinder. Air is resistive, so the more air you have, the harder it is for the spark to jump the gap. A large gap is harder to jump than a smaller one. Factory plug gap is 0.044" and this needs to be dropped down to 0.035". It isn't done for reasons of detonation, however, it would be advised to switch to the 6B plugs (as bernie noted) as they are a cooler plug and this will prevent pre-ignition (which is different than detonation or misfire). Also, be sure to go through the 6 P's before you start turning up the boost. All of this is documented in that FAQ as well as several other items you should test.
